Workshops

Pre-Conference Workshops

The annual ISCHE conference offers the opportunity to organise a Pre-Conference Workshop (PCW). Such workshops are small, focussed meetings that take place immediately before the start of the main ISCHE conference and are considered an integral part of the conference.

PCWs are intended to stimulate intellectual discussions among a wide range of participants on a specific topic unrelated to the conference theme. PCWs may also consist of workshops in which critical issues, methods and theories in the field are discussed. PCWs may include some invited speakers and presenters but must also include a public call for papers. PCW organisers and presenters are expected to register for and attend the accompanying ISCHE conference. The total number of participants may be limited. ISCHE does not provide financial support for such workshops, but conference participants may register for PCWs at no additional fee.

Regional Workshops

ISCHE sponsors regional workshops as part of fulfilling its mandate to support the development of the field of the history of education globally.  These events also create opportunities for international scholarly exchange around historical issues and concerns specific to particular areas of the world.  Proposals for the organization of regional conferences are actively solicited and should be addressed to the ISCHE President.
