Academic opportunities
At the Early Career Researchers’ lunch during ISCHE 38 in Chicago we discussed issues related to the dissemination of academic opportunities for ECRs.
The present list of websites is still under construction and we welcome suggestions of links that can be added as to make it geographically diverse and useful for early career researchers in history of education worldwide. Academics.com – Academic positions in Germany, Austria and Switzerland
EURES – The European Job Mobility Portal – The jobs advertised on the EURES Portal come from EURES members and partners, particularly the European Public Employment Services. EURES advertises jobs for which employers are particularly interested in recruiting workers from other European countries. These EURES jobs have a blue flag, which indicates that an employer is particularly interested in recruiting workers from other European countries.
HigherEdJobs.com – This site concentrates on open positions in higher education, covering mainly the US.
H-Net Job Guide – The Guide posts academic positions announcements in History and Humanities, Social Sciences, and Rhetoric and Composition, and serves a broad audience of administrators, faculty members, archivists, librarians, and other professionals in the humanities and social sciences.

The Chronicle of Higher Education – The Chronicle of Higher Education has a major online searchable database with jobs for academics. The major focus is on the US job but there are also posts in the European Union
THES – The Times Higher Education Supplement – THES advertises higher education jobs, news and books for university and college professionals in teaching and research. To access full text and other services, one needs to subscribe
University Affairs – Affaires universitaires – Canada’s main source of job listings for the higher education sector. The site offers a number of advices to pursue an academic career in Canada, including information on research funding, practical recommendations for CVs and interviews as well as news on Canadian academia
