Early Bird Registration for ISCHE 2014 [30 April deadline]

Speakers at the ISCHE conference are well aware of the early bird registration which ends on 30 April 2014 and thank you to those of you who have already registered so promptly. We do encourage others who wish to come as audience to also take the opportunity of these discounted rates which apply to presenters and non-presenters alike. These rates will not be available after 30 April 2014 – after that date fees rise steeply.

This major international conference 23-26 July, to be held at the Institute of Education in London, is timed to coincide with the centenary of the outbreak of World War I. The conference addresses relationships between education and war, and also the role of education in fostering peace. There will be over 550 papers presented from more than 40 countries. Keynote speakers include Jay Winter, JoAnn McGregor, Zvi Bekerman and Michalinos Zembylas and a keynote panel on teaching the Holocaust featuring Eckhardt Fuchs, Simone Schweber, Alice Pettigrew and Stuart Foster.

Your registration fee includes a private tour of the new First World War galleries at the Imperial War Museum and the choice of optional local history walking tours. Delegates are invited to view a specially curated exhibition at IOE entitled ‘Illuminations: Perspectives on war and peace in the archives’. The standard registration fee includes daytime catering once the conference has begun but there is an extra fee for the conference dinner which will be held in the grand surroundings of the Russell Hotel – numbers for this are limited so book early to avoid disappointment!

Postgraduates and early career researchers who have had papers accepted for ISCHE this year will also be eligible for entry in the ISCHE Prize for the best paper. Papers will need to be submitted after the conference itself during the autumn of 2014. Further details will be circulated in the months ahead and for an interesting list of previous winners please look at this link:
