São Paulo, Brazil, 21-24 August 2018
Deadline: 15 February 2018
The International Federation of Public History is going South on its next Annual meeting, more precisely Southeast Brazil, in the fascinating city of São Paulo, one of the biggest metropoles worldwide. The home for the 5th Annual Conference is the University of São Paulo, Campus Leste (USP-Leste), in association with the 4th International Symposium of the Brazilian Network for Public History. Watch the video below and discover more about our hosts for 2018.
Since 2011, the IFPH has been dedicated to building an international and multi-lingual community of practitioners. The main role of the Federation is to foster the development of Public History worldwide creating and coordinating networks and national associations for public history, promoting teaching, research and other activities that engage the public with the past, history and individual and collective memories
The IFPH international conference in São Paulo is locally supported by the Rede Brasileira de Historia Pública (Brazilian Netwok for Public History) and the Grupo de Estudo e Pesquisa em
História Oral e Memória (Study and Research Group on Oral History and Memory). This joint venture will bring together a great variety of professionals from different fields that are truly practitioners of public history to share their experiences, lessons-learned and challenges in this very international forum. We expect hundreds of experts and activists from all the continents to meet in Sao Paulo and have a fruitful discussion about what are the main challenges for public history today. Diverse international experiences and different public history national perspectives will foster rewarding exchanges.
