Brazilian Journal of History of Education – Call for Submissions
Call for Submissions for the Dossier “Photography as a Research Source for the History of Education”
Photography is an important tool for preserving memory and writing history. It stands against the erasure of the memory of domination and bears witness to struggles of resistance. In historical research, photography was a late addition to the arsenal of documents used by historians. At the beginning of the 20th century, History benefited from the expansion of the concept of source, to which historians such as Marc Bloch, Lucien Febvre, Jacques Le Goff, among others, contributed. To this end, this dossier aims to include contributions from researchers who use photography as a research source in the History of Education, addressing, through this source, different segments, such as: school institutions, school practices, school culture, material culture, childhood, among other themes relevant to the area.
