Pre-Conference Workshops
The annual ISCHE conference offers the opportunity to organise a Pre-Conference Workshop (PCW). Such workshops are small, focussed meetings that take place immediately before the start of the main ISCHE conference and are considered an integral part of the conference.
PCWs are intended to stimulate intellectual discussions among a wide range of participants on a specific topic unrelated to the conference theme. PCWs may also consist of workshops in which critical issues, methods and theories in the field are discussed. PCWs may include some invited speakers and presenters but must also include a public call for papers. PCW organisers and presenters are expected to register for and attend the accompanying ISCHE conference. The total number of participants may be limited. ISCHE does not provide financial support for such workshops, but conference participants may register for PCWs at no additional fee.
Call for PCWs for ISCHE 46
Applicants should first contact the ISCHE Secretary, Lisa Rosén Rasmussen (lisa@edu.au.dk), for advice on preparing a proposal. After consultation, conveners of a PCW should submit a proposal by 5 January 2025 that includes the following information:
- The names and contact details of the PCW conveners;
- A one-page argument stating the intellectual objectives of the pre-conference workshop (including how it is related to ISCHE goals);
- Evidence that the objectives of the PCW do not overlap with those of existing Standing Working Groups;
- A list of potential contributors to such a workshop that demonstrates geographical diversity
- Indication of the length of the event (e.g., full day, half day, two hours, etc.)
The ISCHE EC will decide on the acceptance of the proposals. Once finalised, the programme of the PCW will be published on the ISCHE conference website.
