Call for Papers – Historical Association of Slovenia (28-30 Sept 2016) Deadline 5 February 2016
The 38th HAS assembly will take place in collaboration with the Koroško zgodovinsko društvo / Carinthian Historical Society in Ravne na Koroškem (Slovenia) from 28-30 September 2016. The main theme of the conference will be on the history of education, with attention paid to the question of how predominant pedagogical ideas and the broader European space have defined Slovene lands and their development in the sphere of education, the extent of their influence on future prominent individuals’ schooling and their contribution to the spreading of literacy in the area of modern-day Slovenia and its neighbouring countries from antiquity onwards. Proposals for papers addressing any of the conferences six thematic sets are due 5 February 2016. The full call for papers is available here.

Call for Papers 2014 History of Education Society (US) 5-9 Nov 2014 (Indianapolis)
The 2014 History of Education Society (US) Annual Meeting will take place in Indianapolis, November 5-9, 2014. The Program Committee invites proposals on all topics relevant to the history of education in any time period or nation, and especially papers or panels that cross cultures, time periods, or national boundaries. The Committee defines ‘education’ broadly, to include all institutions of socialization — mass media, voluntary organizations, and so on — as well as schools and universities. We invite proposals for individual papers, complete paper sessions, panel discussions, or workshops. For the 2014 conference, we welcome proposals on any aspect of the history of education, and encourage members to consider submitting proposals on the following topics: [1] Research methods in the history of education (quantitative research, oral history, digital humanities, archival research, new types of sources, historiography, etc.) [2] Teaching the history of education (pedagogical strategies, primary sources and teaching, the place of history of education in a curriculum, etc.) [3] The role of philanthropy in the history of education.
