International Histories of Education Summer School held in Luxembourg 18-20 June 2015
In collaboration with the Paedagogica Historica Foundation, the European Educational Research Association (EERA), the History of Education Society UK and the International Standing Conference for the History of Education (ISCHE) the University of Luxembourg hosted the 6th Annual International Histories of Education Summer School on Researching Histories of Educational Spaces, Discourses and Sources for postgraduate students in the History of Education. Local main organiser was Karin Priem. The Summer School started with a social event on 18 June 2015 at Campus Walferdange and then was continued at the Abbaye Neumünster, 19-20 June 2015. The 24 international participants represented a broad range of nations (Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Denmark, France, Germany, India, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and Ukraine) and academic disciplines. Central themes of the conference were the history of childhood and child-care, material and visual cultures of the classroom, curriculum studies, citizenship education, diversity in education and educational technologies. Leading international historians of education like Cathy Burke (University of Cambridge, UK), Inés Dussel (DIE/CINVESTAV, Mexico), Ian Grosvenor (University of Birmingham, UK), Karin Priem (University of Luxembourg, Luxembourg) Siân Roberts (University of Birmingham, UK), and Angelo Van Gorp (Ghent University, Belgium) were invited tutors.
